Coin battery
This is an often neglected yet essential piece of equipment.
Like all motherboards, the Asus STRIX models also come with the standard Lithium CF2032 3V coin battery. If the battery is empty, it will not hold some data such as the present date and time, and in some motherboard models some BIOS/CMOS user data may also get lost.
New batteries should have 3.3V if not very slightly more. When voltage is below 3V and reaching 2.8V the battery needs replacement.
When you get the motherboard and it is still not installed, you should remove the coin battery and test its voltage with any inexpensive digital tester.
I was surprised when I found that the battery in my brand new STRIX Z690 had only 3.06V. I decided to replace it with a fresh battery by a reputable brand: this item is worth only a few Euro/Dollars.
